Great Holistic Health

About Me

I began my journey into holistic health as a patient of famed functional medicine pioneer, Dr. Mark Hyman and his nutritionist, Kathie Swift.  From that life altering encounter, I experienced optimal health and balance that sent me on a journey to learn as much as I could about the effect food and lifestyle have on the body.  I studied holistic nutrition at Hawthorn University where I graduated Summa Cum Laude.

I believe that the foundation of good health comes from eating real food based on one’s biochemical individually.  In holistic nutrition we focus on the personal journeys, struggles, and triumphs of each unique person.   I assist three MD’s in coming up with nutritional protocols for their patients at Integra Rehab Physicians and Neurology Wellness in Charlotte, NC.   I also currently teach classes in holistic health at the Healthy Home Market, Centered Wellness, and Harmony Yoga.  I also teach the wildly popular  5 week series, Holistic Reboot, with my business partner Lisa Moore.  In addition, I am a member of the Content Development Team at,

I served my internship  with Dr. Nikolas Hedberg, working with his patients on general holistic nutrition principles; gluten-free eating, alkaline forming diets, and adequate protein intake.  I helped launched a whole-foods-based teaching kitchen at the Morrison YMCA in Charlotte, NC; where I established a whole foods based curriculum and taught classes on holistic nutrition.

I occasionally appear on local television and radio shows, as well as print media.  To find balance in my own life I enjoy exercise in all forms, yoga, meditation, cooking, inventing recipes, reading, hiking, perusing the farmer’s market, and spending time with my family.

I am a Holistic Health Educator. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Hawthorn University with a Nutrition Consultant certificate.   I have worked in the field of holistic health since 2008.  I am a health educator, NOT A PHYSICIAN.  As such, I do not diagnose or treat disease; rather I help support the innate healing response of the body through food, nutritional supplements, relaxation, and exercise programs.  My services are not licensed.  Holistic Nutrition is not recognized as a licensed profession in my home state.

Information provided on the relationship between nutrition and health are NOT meant to replace competent medical care or treatment for any health problem or condition.

I am NOT a registered dietitian, nor would I ever want to be!

I’m feeling good. I feel like changing a few things up have made a big difference. I totally get it. Protein (especially meat) is good for you and it makes you feel good. So many things have changed for me already in just the two weeks of adding protein and cutting sugar. I have more energy during the day and, in particular, when I’m teaching classes. I’ve been sleeping better at night. And I feel that my metabolism has kicked in. Formerly, I never really felt hungry, now, after my exercise classes, I NEED to eat. But, the very, very best part is…
my round squishy tummy, which has been the bane of my existence since giving birth, is really looking much flatter. I’m actually astonished. I would have argued that I ate healthfully before, but I recognize that I am eating in a much more healthful and balanced way now.

Another delightful addition to my diet is the fantastic butter and mineral salts you introduced me to. Vegetables have never tasted so delicious. That’s another thing, everything tastes really good…. Strawberries and apples are so sweet. Vegetables are bursting with flavor. Meat is very satisfying. I had none of those sensations when my body was bogged down with processed sugar.

Thanks for everything,

I am so inspired since we spoke, although giving up sweets to this degree will be a new challenge.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I look forward to working with you.

Our session today was inspiring as you helped me to recognize that this is healing journey that I need and deserve. It feels so good to know I am doing something to enhance and nurture Me! You brought it to my consciousness and I’ve been sailing thru the day with such joy.

Thanks for everything.
